Call for paper for young researchers - 2012 Edition
Territories for a new Industrial development and system-based policies: cases and methods

Young researchers with original research on the subject of "Territories for a new Industrial development and system-based policies: cases and methods" are invited to submit proposals to the Scientific Committee of the Meetings of Artimino 2012, writing to Annalisa Caloffi and Guglielmo Parentini (object: junior session Artimino 2012).
The proposal, a maximum of 6000 words, should be submitted by 20 July 2012. 4-5 Papers will be selected to be presented and discussed, and grants will be insured to cover participation costs and accommodation to Artimino 2012.

The 2012 edition of the Meetings intends to analyze the new territorial configurations of the Italian and European industrial development. After many years of great emphasis on local development trajectories, during which we have accumulated many analysis based on case studies that have provided us with extensive details on the typical characteristics of the Italian and Tuscan manufacture, we have witnessed a phase of relative little interest for the analysis of the territory.

It is therefore to describe what are now the industrial districts after a period in which they trailed Italian industrial development in the second half of the twentieth century, and if new forces of local industrial development are rooted in the territories, both as an alternative to the "old" district development , both as its continuation, both as a complementary component. The same context suggests that the analysis of the impact of policies on industrial development should be explicitly brought to the level of system effects that these policies and others do not explicitly targeted to industrial development, have produced more or less directly and consciously.

Grants for participation to the Meetings

The researchers selected will receive a scholarship to cover the costs of attending the Meetings of Artimino, including travel expenses (as a result of the delivery of travel documents), and overnight stay (at Villa of Artimino). Travel expenses may be allowed a reasonable limit for domestic travel from European countries regardless of the carrier used. During the meetings will be scheduled a session for the presentation of selected papers - probably on the morning of October 10. The session will be chaired by a teacher who will introduce and comment on the work. At the end of the presentations is foreseen an open discussion with the participants to the Meetings.

THE Junior session

The Junior session was introduced in 2009 for the first time. The aim of the Scientific Committee of Artimino is to accompany the sessions canonical presentation of researches, analysis and discussions by scholars and skilled operators, with a session devoted to original research conducted by young researchers on the theme proposed as central to each Meetings.

The theme of the fourth session Junior is " Territories for a new Industrial development and system-based policies: cases and methods " The description of the contents indicates the general lines of research that should be addressed and discussed in the paper that will be presented by young researchers.

The Scientific Committee will select 3 to 5 proposals at best, giving notice to all participants and beneficiaries of the outcome of the selection of cases for participation to the meetings to be held in Artimino between 8 and 10 October , 2012.

The researchers selected will then send the full text that will have the features described by the deadline of September 15, 2012.

Papers should have a maximum size of 16 pages (1.800 characters for each pages including spaces). Images, charts, and tables are not included in the calculation of the number of pages.

There are no preferences on the scale of the territories that are analyzed and even on the areas of specialization of enterprise systems.
